In which strange things are announced

Announcements

So, the time has come for me to first, apologize for being absent on you for two months. How rude of me. I could blame life but…well, in fact, I will blame life. I quit my second job after months of being pretty miserable and it feels so good.

I also got my first short story published. It’s called “A Sacrifice” and you can find it in the July edition of The Crow’s Quill from Quill and Crow.

But that’s not all folks.

Drum roll, please.

I am stunned and joyful to announce that I am now represented by Maria Brannan of Greyhound Literary! She read The Wandering Dolls in three days and she really gets it. I know it’s going to be in safe hands with Maria. We’re going to be working on edits over the next month or so, then it’s off to submission to publishers!

I’ll be writing my “How I Got My Agent” post probably for next month, so stay tuned!

Writing

I haven’t been doing much writing lately, only because I’ve been waiting to discuss with Maria what to work on next. It’ll probably be either Crows (Polish epic fantasy), Howl (fantasy fairy tale), or Godkillers (Italian dark fantasy). Their vibes are in the gallery below, in order.

Reading

I’m currently reading too many things. In particular, I’m listening to Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar and Tasha Suri’s The Jasmine Throne. Which are very different, let me tell you.

Recently, I finished The Witch and the Tsar by Olesya Gilmore, which is a stunning historical fantasy, as well as a few novellas by the creepy king Eric LaRocca.

Music

I just went to see Between the Buried and Me with Thank You, Scientist and Rivers of Nihil. I’ve been on a metal kick. Except that I also saw The Cure and Taylor Swift (not together), so maybe I’m just on a music kick.

If you want to get into The Wandering Dolls vibes, check out my official playlist. I hope you like Polish metal and carnival rock.

Art

I’ve been a little off the art train recently. Started some crochet projects, haven’t drawn much, but I did resurrect my bullet journal, so that’s something.

In Conclusion

It’s been kind of a stellar month. Let’s hope there’s no crash, yeah?

See you next month!
