My most anticipated 2025 SFF book releases
That's sci-fi and fantasy, folks!

Introduction
I know I don’t usually send out newsletters back to back, but I wanted to get these out before January ends!
Today we’re going to look at the 2025 releases in SFF I’m most excited about. To see my full 2025 TBR (full-ish, anyway), check out my Goodreads list. Listed below are the highlights. Next week we’ll do horror!
The 2025 releases
Fantasy

The Ashfire King - Chelsea Abdullah
I loved Chelsea’s debut about a thief and prince in an Arabian fantasy world, it was so much fun, and I’m excited to get this beautiful sequel.

To Steal From Thieves - MK Lobb
MK Lobb stole my heart with her YA Seven Faceless Saints. I can’t wait to see what she does with this adult heist fantasy.

A Song of Legends Lost - MH Ayinde
A commoner invokes a powerful spirit that could end a centuries’-long war.

Grave Empire - Richard Swan
In an empire where magic is outlawed, a lowly ambassador tries to save the world.

The Witch Roads - Kate Elliott
Kate Elliott is an unsung master of fantasy. A prince and a courier go on a dangerous magical adventure.

The Listeners - Maggie Stiefvater
I’m stoked for Maggie’s adult debut about magical people fighting Nazis.

The River Has Roots - Amal El-Mohtar
You don’t have to be Bigolas Dickolas Wolfwood to want this story of two sisters and the land of Faerie.

The Isle in the Silver Sea - Tasha Suri
I loved The Jasmine Throne. Can’t wait to see what Tasha does with the Green Knight.
Science Fiction

Red God - Pierce Brown
I’m a hardcore Red Rising fan. I can’t wait to see what Darrow and Mustang and co. are up to in their latest adventure.

The Sea Eternal - Emery Robin
I’m admittedly not yet done with book one, the story of sisters on opposite sides of an intergalactic battle for the throne, but I want to finish it in time for the sequel.
